Life gives us challenges.
It also gives us the innate capacity
to learn and grow from our experiences, to become more of who
we can be, and to continue developing all through our lives.

In my psychotherapy practice
I work with the body,as well as the mind and spirit of each client.
I encourage the growth of internal resources that can become a constant
source of support and stability whatever life's challenges.

Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy
|
I have extensive training in body-focused psychotherapy.
-
I am a practitioner and trainer of Integrative
Body Psychotherapy (IBP). IBP uses a combination of breathwork
and talk therapy to work at a deep level on issues such as family
of origin, relationships, self-esteem, illness patterns and
character style.
-
I also have training in Somatic Experiencing, a body-focused
approach to working with traumas of all kinds, such as car
accidents, crimes, abuse, and medical procedures.
-
And I have Bodydynamic Foundation Training in human development
and character structures. This body of knowledge integrates
psychological and physiological development from infancy
to adulthood.
-
I use EMDR as a method of working with traumas and the
self-defeating belief systems that arise from them.

|
Couples Counselling
|
I approach relationship counselling from two levels:
-
Work at "cleaning up" behaviours that interfere
with closeness and intimacy.
-
Discover and work through the deeper issues in each
partner that give rise to less than optimal patterns
of interaction.
